Royal Caribbean repositioning cruises follow a tight calendar: eastbound across the Atlantic in April, westbound in October and November, and Pacific moves in April and May and from September to November. Our finder lists 54 Royal Caribbean one-way sailings departing October 2026 to December 2027, each checked on royalcaribbean.com in late September 2026. They range from a 2-night hop between Brisbane and Sydney to a 25-night voyage from Seattle to Brisbane.

With Royal Caribbean, the ship class tells you more than the route. The biggest ships, Icon and Oasis class, don’t cross oceans at all in this schedule; they make short moves along the US coast. The crossings belong to the mid-size and older ships, plus one exception: Legend of the Seas. The current list is below this guide, and the repositioning cruise finder filters it by month and port.

When Royal Caribbean repositions

Route Sailings Nights Months in our data
Transatlantic, Europe to US 11 12 to 15 Oct to Nov 2026, Oct to Nov 2027
Transatlantic, US to Europe 7 12 to 17 April 2027 only
US East Coast, Gulf and Caribbean 12 7 to 10 Mar to May, Aug, Oct to Nov
Transpacific 9 14 to 25 Apr, Sep to Nov
Within Asia and Australia 8 2 to 13 Oct to Jan
Hawaii and Vancouver 3 8 to 10 Apr, Sep, Nov
Pacific coast 3 3 to 7 May, Sep, Nov
Panama Canal 1 15 Oct 2027

The eastbound crossings are the narrowest window. All seven leave between April 19 and April 27, 2027, from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, New Orleans and Cape Liberty in New Jersey, to Barcelona, Rome (Civitavecchia) or Southampton. If you want a spring crossing on Royal Caribbean, that one week is your choice of dates.

The 2026-2027 schedule by ship class

Ship class Ships in our data What they do
Icon Icon, Legend Legend crosses Barcelona and Fort Lauderdale; Icon moves Miami to Galveston
Oasis Oasis, Symphony 9- and 10-night moves between Florida, New Jersey and Galveston
Quantum and Quantum Ultra Anthem, Quantum, Ovation, Spectrum, Odyssey Pacific and Asia; Odyssey crosses Rome and Cape Liberty
Freedom Freedom, Independence Miami and Southampton; Miami and Cape Liberty
Voyager Explorer, Mariner, Navigator, Voyager Atlantic crossings, New Orleans and Barcelona, Pacific and Asia
Radiance Brilliance, Serenade Atlantic crossings; Pacific coast and Panama Canal
Vision Vision, Rhapsody, Grandeur Caribbean moves from Baltimore, San Juan and Colon; Rhapsody crosses

Twenty ships appear in the list in all. Anthem of the Seas has the most sailings, five, as it shuttles between Sydney, Honolulu and Vancouver.

Legend of the Seas: the Icon-class ship that crosses

Royal Caribbean describes Legend of the Seas as the third ship in the Icon Class. It arrived in summer 2026, sails from Barcelona and Rome in summer and from Fort Lauderdale in winter, and so it has to cross the Atlantic twice a year. Our finder has three Legend crossings:

  • Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, 13 nights, October 25, 2026, via Palma de Mallorca, Malaga and Cadiz.
  • Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona, 14 nights, April 25, 2027, via Cadiz, Malaga and Alicante.
  • Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, 13 nights, October 31, 2027, via Palma, Alicante and Malaga.

That makes Legend the only way to cross an ocean on one of Royal Caribbean’s largest ships in this period. All the Icon-class attractions come with it, but as on any ship, the open-air ones depend on the weather: a late-October westbound crossing can have warm days near Spain and Florida and cool, windy ones mid-ocean. Most of Legend’s sea days fall between the Spanish coast and Florida, with no Azores or Bermuda stop on these routings.

Icon, Oasis and Symphony: short moves along the US coast

The other giants move, but only within American waters. In our data, Icon of the Seas sails 9 nights from Miami to Galveston in August 2027, and Symphony of the Seas goes the opposite way, Galveston to Fort Lauderdale, a day later, in 10 nights. Oasis of the Seas makes a 9-night move from Fort Lauderdale to Cape Liberty in April 2027 and returns in October, both via Aruba and Curacao. Independence of the Seas does the same pairing between Miami and Cape Liberty.

These one-way Caribbean sailings are repositioning in the original sense, a ship changing homeport, and they’re the only way to sail Icon or Oasis-class ships on a one-way itinerary in this period. Like any repositioning cruise, they need a one-way trip home from the arrival port. Our guides to repositioning cruises from Galveston and repositioning cruises from New York and Boston cover those ports.

Quantum class in the Pacific

Royal Caribbean’s Pacific program runs on Quantum-class ships. Anthem of the Seas sails Honolulu to Sydney in 17 to 18 nights in October, back in April in 16, and links Honolulu and Vancouver in 8 to 10 nights. Quantum of the Seas makes the longest move in the schedule after Voyager’s: 23 nights from Brisbane to Seattle in April 2027 via Tahiti and Honolulu, then Seattle to Tokyo (Yokohama) in 14 nights that September via Hakodate and Akita. Ovation of the Seas strings together a 3-night Los Angeles to Vancouver run, 9 nights to Honolulu and 16 nights to Brisbane in November 2027.

Navigator of the Seas, a Voyager-class ship, adds Los Angeles to Tokyo in 15 nights in October 2026 and Tokyo to Los Angeles in 17 nights in October 2027. For the routes themselves, see our transpacific repositioning guide.

Linking Royal Caribbean sailings in the Pacific

Royal Caribbean’s Pacific ships often go straight from one one-way voyage into the next, which lets you build a much longer trip without changing ships. These pairs in our data leave from the port where the previous sailing ends, on the day it arrives:

  • Vancouver to Brisbane, 25 nights, or Los Angeles to Brisbane, 28: Ovation of the Seas in November 2027, Los Angeles to Vancouver (3 nights), Vancouver to Honolulu (9) and Honolulu to Brisbane (16).
  • Vancouver to Sydney, 27 nights: Anthem of the Seas, Vancouver to Honolulu on September 26, 2027, then Honolulu to Sydney on October 6.
  • Los Angeles to Singapore, 26 nights: Navigator of the Seas, Los Angeles to Tokyo (Yokohama) on October 2, 2026, then Tokyo to Singapore on October 18.
  • Seattle to Singapore, 27 nights: Quantum of the Seas, Seattle to Tokyo on September 27, 2027, then Tokyo to Singapore on October 12.

The Pacific moves are where Royal Caribbean’s longest voyages are. The Atlantic crossings are capped at 17 nights in our data, and most are 12 to 14.

US ports for Royal Caribbean crossings

Royal Caribbean uses more East and Gulf Coast ports for its crossings and one-way sailings than you might expect. Odyssey of the Seas sails between Rome and Cape Liberty, New Jersey, across from Manhattan, in October 2026, April 2027 and October 2027. Mariner of the Seas links New Orleans and Barcelona. Brilliance of the Seas ends a November 2027 crossing in Tampa, and Explorer of the Seas uses Port Canaveral. Vision of the Seas sails from Baltimore to San Juan in October of both years. Our guide to westbound transatlantic crossings covers what the fall weather is like on the way.

What a crossing costs: older ship versus new

These are the lowest fares royalcaribbean.com showed for a sample of crossings on October 6, 2026. They include taxes and fees, are per person for two sharing, and change daily.

Ship Crossing Nights Lowest fare Per night
Mariner of the Seas Barcelona to New Orleans, Oct 2027 14 $694 About $50
Freedom of the Seas Miami to Southampton, Apr 2027 12 $678 About $57
Mariner of the Seas New Orleans to Barcelona, Apr 2027 17 $1,053 About $62
Legend of the Seas Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, Oct 2027 13 $1,554 About $120
Legend of the Seas Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, Oct 2026 13 $1,788 About $138

On these fares, the newest ship costs a little over twice as much per night as a crossing on Mariner or Freedom. The Mariner of the Seas crossings are also worth noting for a different reason: they start or end in New Orleans, so travelers in the South can drive to the ship and fly only one way.

Onboard extras on a 14-night crossing

Royal Caribbean adds gratuities of $18.50 per guest per day in standard staterooms and $21 in suites, according to its gratuity policy. An 18% gratuity goes on drinks and drink packages, specialty dining and room service, and 20% on spa services. On a 14-night crossing, standard-cabin gratuities alone are $259 per person.

Drink packages follow two rules worth knowing before a long voyage. The beverage package FAQ says any guest buying an alcoholic package must buy it for every guest of legal drinking age in the same stateroom, and packages bought on board need at least four days of the cruise remaining, at a prorated price. With six or seven sea days in a row, the package is easier to use than on a port-heavy week, but it’s priced per day for the whole voyage. Our sister site has a guide to when cruise drink packages are worth it.

Who a Royal Caribbean crossing suits

Royal Caribbean suits travelers who want a busy, activity-heavy ship and families looking for a crossing with something for children to do. It’s less suited to people who want lectures and quiet; Celebrity, its sister brand, is the calmer option on similar routes. For a line-by-line view, see our comparison of the best lines for repositioning cruises.

The schedule-driven tip: if you’re watching for a fall westbound deal, look at the late-October and November sailings on Explorer, Brilliance, Mariner and Rhapsody of the Seas. In our data those older ships account for most of the westbound crossings, and they’re where Royal Caribbean’s lowest per-night crossing fares turned up.

Disney Repositioning Cruises: What Disney Actually Offers

Disney repositioning cruises are rare and sell out fast. For 2026 and 2027 they fall into three groups: Disney Wish's transatlantic crossings to Europe in April 2027 and back to New York in September, Disney Magic's 14-night Panama Canal voyages between San Diego and Galveston, and 4-night Pacific coast runs between San Diego and Vancouver on Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. Expect to pay roughly twice a mainstream line's per-night fare.
